IMATS Haul!

Hey guys
Sooo I was lucky enough to go to IMATS. I had never been before so didn’t really know what to expect but I was so happily surprised. It was much bigger than expected and it had many different make up stands where you could buy make up at discounted prices. At most of the stalls there were lessons/talks/showings which was amazing to see! I think my favourite part of the day was meeting Louise Young and watching her apply make up and talk us through the process. She is so down to earth and such a nice lady, I felt very honoured to have met her. I also watched a prosthetic cut be done and I found that amazing. I think I will buy the kit later this year as I am looking into going in to that part of the make up industry.
Not only did I watch but I bought...I bought so much lol in the end Gaelle (the Makeup Fairy) had to restrain me lol!
So this post is to show you what I bought x

From MAC I bought these 5 eye shadow colours; Chrome Yellow, Tempting, Amber Lights, Cranberry, Soot.
I really wanted a bright yellow and this is perfect and I brought the Amber Lights because it has my name in it lol but actually it is a beautiful goldish, orangey colour and Cranberry is just lovely and I couldn’t resist!
Then I found the Louise Young counter and it was the best part of my day, meeting Louise Young was the highlight of my day!

This is me and Louise x
At the Louise Young stand is where I did my credit card damage, but I just loved everything!
I have wanted the ‘Louise Young Essential Palette’ for nearly a year now and finally I bought it! The colours are fabulous and essential for every working Make up artist. The colours in the palette are sooo useful you could make EVERY brow colour from it. The terracotta colour is just phenomenal and I think I will use it a lot. Louise said it is best used on darker skin tones.

from left to right = Ting, Maowi, Pom Pom, Black bear, Sislet.
I brought 3 LY brushes which are:

left to right = Ly34, Ly38A, Ly25
Can’t wait to use that big fat foundation brush, I’ll probably be able to do my foundation in about 4 seconds with it lol x
I also bought 3 more brushes, this time I bought them at ‘Crown’.

From left to right = the 1st one doesn’t have a name, C170-2, C217 Bent Liner
All I can say is that I can’t wait til next year as now I’m an IMATS ADDICT!

Hey guys
Sooo this is the 3rd part in the Sex and the City eylure review and today I reviewed the ‘SAMANTHA’ lashes.
I love Samantha in the show she’s so overly confident doesn’t care what anyone thinks of her and more than that she is beautiful, stylish and SEXY- just like her Lashes. These Lashes are so over the top that they work! They are very bold and I would only ever wear them if I was going out for dinner or clubbing. They are so light weight on the eye it feels like I’m not wearing anything which is surprising as they look heavy. When I put them on they looked very fluttery in the mirror which I liked but I know some people won’t like that look.

They have a thick seam but they were easy to put on, whereas the ‘Miranda’ lashes had a thick seam at one end and not the other which made it really difficult for me to apply. The Samantha lashes were thick seamed all along and it made it easy. These lashes are the perfect size for my eye so I love that as I hate cutting lashes down. I do like these lashes a lot and can’t wait for a night out because these are the lashes I think I would choose...However I have not tried the ‘Carrie’ Eylure lashes yet so my mind may change!
The glue that comes with all the eylure lashes is really great and I always use it.  It sticks the lash down perfectly and it keeps the lash on for a good long time, when taking the lash off the glue does not irritate the skin at all. Out of a score of 10 I would give these lashes a 10! I could not find anything wrong with them!  Definitely go and have a try of these lashes and I promise you won’t be disappointed!

Eylure Sex and the City Lashes – Miranda

Hey guys
So this is the 2nd part of my Sex and the City lashes review. Today I looked at the ‘Miranda’ lashes.
Out of all the lashes I found that my favourite lashes were ‘Miranda’s’(by just looking at them in the box)  Funny because she’s the character I don’t like in the T.V show!
I liked the lashes because they were all about the outer corner and about the emphasis on elongating the outer part of the eye. They are FAB for people with smaller eyes!

In ‘Sex and the City’ Miranda is the very sarcastic one. She is the one with the great career and nice apartment but she comes off as not really caring about her style. These Lashes show other wise. They are lovely but I would only wear them if I was going out on the town or partying. They are very full and voluptuous and I felt really great in them.
Applying them was quite hard because they have a really difficult seam, the 1st part being really fine and then as the lashes get fuller the seam gets harder making it difficult. The lashes also curl up so that makes it even more tricky =s The glue the lashes come with is really good and it last a really long time.
All in all I scored these lashes 7/10. They are beautiful lashes for going out partying but they are bit to big for daytime use. The negative is getting them on! Why not give it ago x

Hey guys!
So I thought long and hard about what I would do for my next blog post and I went in to Boots to have a look around and I found the Eyelure Sex and the City eyelash collection!  It hit me that this would be a fab idea to review the whole set. I love Sex and the City and have all the box sets... I am addicted!=D I have started with the ‘Charlotte’ lashes. In the programme Charlotte is very traditional and is desperate for the perfect man, apartment and children. She is definatley the classiest out of all of them with her timeless, vintage look and I think the lashes have really embodied the look of her character! In the box the lashes look very full and I thought they would be only wearable for a night time look.  When I actually put them on they weren’t as full as I expected and I would happily wear them for a day or night look!

The lashes were so easy to apply and they were the exact size for my eye, I did not need to cut them down at all! That was such a plus for me as I always need to cut the MAC ones.
When I put the lashes on they looked fantastic they really enhanced my eye and added so much volume and length and they were so light weight. I felt very up market just like Charlotte in these lashes. I used the glue in the box to apply the lashes and it was 10 out of 10!
My next post will be the MIRANDA lashes , really hope this helps you!

Hey hey so this is my 1st post! (How exciting)
When I was 6yrs old my mum asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I told her I wanted to be a Make up artist. Shortly after that conversation my mum let me do her make up I and I made her look like a very glamorous chimney sweep!=D  so I have always had the passion to be a make up artist! I can happily say that none of my clients have ever looked like chimney sweeps since!
In august 2011 I attended the Pixiwoo intensive course and am now a qualified Make up artist! YAY!! So my 1st post is going to be a review on the Pixiwoo course!
The night before the course I was soo nervous I had butterflies. I felt like a kid on Christmas eve and couldn’t get to sleep due to nerves excitement BUT I had nothing to worry about. The moment I walked in to the Pixiwoo studio I was greeted with a huge hug  from a very heavily pregnant Nik and her sister Sam. They were both so welcoming and put us all at ease within seconds.

The good thing about this course is that you don’t need any previous experience so there is a  good mix of people. I liked that there was a small group so it made a very intimate setting and we could all have a bit of one on one time with the sisters.
I learnt soooo much .We got taught all kind of things and picked up so many tips. We learnt Natural make up , Smokey eyes , period make up from all eras , high fashion, contouring , transvestite , icons... you name it we did it and it wasn’t like ok quick quick lets move on to the next thing it was very in-depth. On the last day we got to concentrate on what we thought we needed to work on and I did some bridal. It was my favourite day cos Nic and I worked together. She did one eye and I did the other! It was like a one on one personal lesson. I loved it and would recommend the course to anyone! They train us with high end designer products and let us use what we want. I was like a kid in a candy shop, I felt so spoilt I didn’t know what to use first!
This is mine and Nic’s work of art (the right side of the face is mine) lol

Not only do you get an amazing learning experience but you gain friends for life. All the girls on the course I have kept in touch with! You get close because you all have the same interests! Sam and Nic are just the loveliest ladies and they will always be my friends and ICONS.
The Pixiwoo course is well worth doing. I don’t have anything negative to say, the only bad thing was having to go home at the end!

This is me and my group!
